2018 in Review
Good day, friends! I hope you had a great Christmas/holiday/New Year’s. Now that 2018 is over, I wanted to take a look at everything I read this year. What did I love? What did I hate? Let’s find out! Continue reading “2018 in Review”
A Book Haul
Hi friends, I hop you had a great weekend. Since I was gone for about a month, I’m trying to catch up on blogs. So I figured it would be fun this week to talk about what I’ve recently purchased at Half Price and on the Kindle store.
Writer With a Day Job by Aine Greaney
I’m a writer, as you know. I also have a day job, which you also know. So this book seemed like a good way to spend a bit of time. I checked it out from the library, no surprise there, and I thought it was pretty interesting so I figured I’d talk about it.
1984 and Us: Technology’s Grasp
Alright, part 2 here we go. In my last blog about 1984, we talked about the double speak/double think that’s reflected in both the recent presidential election. 1984 and Us
A note before I start: I know this is the first time I’ve posted in a week. I want to thank all of you for being here, and for allowing me to take a few days off for the holiday and to celebrate some special anniversaries. We’re back to our regular schedule!
Earlier this year, I was reading an interesting article about how sales of the book 1984 had skyrocketed since the Trump election. While the article didn’t say why this was the case, I had some ideas, so I decided to read it again myself.
The Neuromancer by William Gibson
Hello, friends! It’s time for another book review! Hooray! Today we’re talking about The Neuromancer by William Gibson. I just recently read this book in January of this year after having it on my to read list for a solid decade. It might have been longer, actually, because I remember buying my copy at Borders when I was in high school. Let’s all have a moment of silence for the loss of the beloved Borders.
A Life Update
I’m going to make a confession. I am having a really long week and, although I have some blog ideas in the wings, I just can’t commit to sitting down this morning and writing one of them. I do want to get up a blog as I usually do on Friday, so I thought maybe a life update was in order.
The KonMari Method
I have anxiety. Really bad, crippling, life controlling anxiety.
